You have to wonder …

Our dear friend and regular contributor Richard Ember from Texas is very fond of ranting and raving to us that CNN is a hopelessly biased bunch of left wingers who make no more attempt to be even handed in their media coverage than, say, Faux News.

He may or may not be right. Opinions are divided.

On one thing, though, surely, we can all agree.

Their copywriting is a miracle of clarity and precision.

  1. James Mahoney says:

Well, he could have been a step-brother from his Dad’s first marriage to a giraffe, which perhaps would have made him a liraffe.

That said, this falls into the category of my enduring favorite newscaster/journalist phrase, “in an [interview/movie/visit to/etc.] before he died, Jones said…”

  2. Pat A says:

Lovely! Thanks Yolly! It reminds me of the constant references in the media that soon ‘1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime…’ – which always makes me think ‘Well, astoundingly few of us are likely to get cancer after our deaths, are we?!’.

  3. underwriiter505 says:

I hope it’s acceptable if, after I laugh at the phrasing, I shed a tear or two for Jericho. And for the world that all this killing is making for our children and grandchildren (not that I have any personally, but there are a lot out there.)

  4. gwpj says:

Yeah, gee, the lion’s brother was also a lion. Gosh. Hard to figure . . . where that copy writer got his or her training. 😉
